Tremulous is a FPS (First Person Shooter) RTP (Real Time Playing) and its more based on strategy and shooter, you can choose two teams, Aliens or Humans, your objective, attack and destroy the opponent´s base, when either team is chosed you can choose the builder or the attacker, the builder create the base, and the base defences, and the attackers, well attack the base and the opponent´s when the player kills and enemy it has the credits to buy and upgrade their gear (humans) or "evolve" in something more powerful (aliens).​​​

The game have 3 stages in each one both of the teams have new weapons/classes or structures that the player can build in his/her base...

And when you think that conquist a base is easy?, well not any more!, in Tremulous you will have to defend your base, attack the base, build to make your team some progress, in every stage (1,2,3) you need to kill certain number of enemies to desbloqueate it, wait hold on, dont die too much because the enemy can evolve to an advanced stage that is when you "feed" the other team, (we will cover it later), so dont get kill out there!

Another thing you should learn is to build, there are some structures that you can build, depending on the stage you are:

Aliens:
Overmind: It controls all the structures and the build points (BP)

Egg: Or Spawns, is the place when the player can revive

Acid Tube: Used as a defence, sprites an acid that hurts any close human Availiable in Stage 1

Barricade: Used as a defence, it can work like a cover for an alien base or an alien forward (fwd) base, Availiable in Stage 1​​​
